Nicki Minaj is celebrating her year of massive achievements, and YASS, GIRL
We’re less than halfway through the year, but Nicki Minaj has accomplished more than a year’s worth of #goals, and continues to show everyone why she’s the queen of rap. Back in March, Minaj surpassed Aretha Franklin on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the most entries by a solo female artist. Aretha Franklin is a living legend, so this is a pretty big deal!
But that’s just the tip of the Barbie-shaped iceberg. According to Nicki’s most recent Instagram post, Universal Records has confirmed that this year alone, her album catalogue sold 325,000 copies worldwide, and #ThePinkprint is now at 4 million copies sold worldwide. Plus, last week the singer and rapper received an ASCAP award for her feature on Yo Gotti’s “Down in the DM” remix — which the Queens native says makes her the “most-awarded” female rapper in history.
We are waiting for official confirmation on that one, but from the looks of it, the recent ASCAP win might have helped Minaj surpass Missy Elliott, who has earned 189 awards.
Attention‼️ I heard I became the most awarded female rapper in history last night w/the #DownInTheDm ASCAP award. True or False my darlings?

It’s clear Nicki has tons of reasons to celebrate, but why is she shouting herself out on Instagram today? Well, taking a key from DJ Khaled (he holds all the keys to knowledge) she captioned,
"They don’t want you to post your achievements & accomplishments. It makes them uncomfortable. But you must! B/c everyday, ppl broadcast your failures. They shout them to the mountain tops. So never EVER stop posting your accomplishments. I love my fans so much. Thank you. 🙏🏽 #NBAAwards Monday. Can’t wait for you guys to see my performance❣️"
We couldn’t be happier for Nicki. Maybe “they” don’t want you to win, but we sure as hell do! We can’t wait to see what you do next. Slay, queen!
