Nicki Minaj can now add “signed model” to her resume
Nicki Minaj isn’t one of the biggest rap stars for nothing; she can sing, rap, and dance her way through anything, adding in some sartorial-inspiration and wisdom while she’s at it. Honestly, at this point, we wouldn’t even be shocked if Nicki told us she could fly a plane with a blindfold on, because is there anything she can’t do? Well, we’re not sure about her flying a plane, but Nicki Minaj just signed with Wilhelmina models celebrity division, so she can officially add model to her resume. Nicki may be new to the agency, but she’s not new to modeling; she’s been the face of Roberto Cavalli and worked with legendary photographers like Mario Testino.
Nicki has never been one to shy away from bold looks (hello every single outfit she’s ever worn), and she’s no stranger to the fashion world either. Nicki’s looks for Paris Fashion Week were iconic; remember those floor length extensions, and when she let her boob out during the Haider Ackermann show? Obviously, Nicki isn’t averse to fashion risks, which makes her the perfect muse and model for designers aplenty.
It seems like the fashion industry is also slowly starting to realize how important representation is, on and off the catwalks. If we had more bold, beautiful and outspoken women of color like Nicki represented in the media, we’d be on our way to true inclusivity! This is a great start, and we can’t wait to see what Nicki manifests.
Yes Nicki!!!
