Queen Nicki Minaj is getting her own video game app. YES!
Calling all Barbz! As if we don’t already spend enough time on our phones, mobile developer Glu has just announced that they’re partnering with rapper, actress, and queen of our hearts Nicki Minaj to develop a brand new mobile game.
So far, the app is still very much in development and the company hasn’t released a ton of information — but given that Nicki is her royal Minajesty of all things wonderful, it’s guaranteed to be amazing. According to a press release from the company, the game will include “Minaj’s name, likeness, voice, and creative direction to develop a one-of-a-kind digital experience for players.”
The app appears to be part of a new initiative at the company to collaborate with more celebrities after the overwhelming success of Glu’s partnership with Kim Kardashian for Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. Glu also recently announced that they’re collaborating with Jason Statham for an “action-centric” app — so that’s happening.
“I am thrilled to welcome the undisputed queen of hip-hop, Nicki Minaj, to Glu’s growing list of celebrity partners,” Niccolo de Masi, CEO of the company, said in a statement. “We look forward to combining Nicki’s distinctive style and massive global appeal with Glu’s celebrity social gaming expertise.”
The game is slated for a summer 2016 release, and we’re already anticipating losing countless hours to playing it.
