Nick Jonas dishing out compliments to ex-girlfriend Miley Cyrus is officially #breakupgoals

The Jonas Brothers are officially back, and we’re burnin’ up with nostalgia. And better yet, Nick Jonas just said the sweetest things about ex-girlfriend Miley Cyrus during a March 4th Apple Music’s Beats 1 radio show. “She’s a real singer,” Nick said (Cyrus blew us us all away during her duets with Dolly Parton and Shawn Mendes at the 2019 Grammy Awards). Nick added, “But we knew that ‘cause we grew up with her.”

"We had a song with her back in the day called 'Before the Storm,' which is my favorite catalogue song of the Jonas Brothers," the "Right Now" singer continued. "And at that point she was 16 and she was singing her ass off. So, it’s no surprise now that people are coming around to [her talent]. But I’m sitting around going, ‘Told you so.’

Miley and Nick, both Disney Channel alums, began dating back in the summer of 2006 after meeting at a charity event. They dated until December 2007, months after the JoBros opened for Miley for the first time during her Best of Both Worlds tour. In her 2009 book, Miles to Go, the “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” singer said her breakup with Nick, her “first love,” was “the hardest day ever.”

The two reconciled for a short time in 2009. However, Miley met her now-husband and then-costar Liam Hemsworth while filming The Last Song that same year. She and Nick officially called things off soon after.

"Nick and I loved each other," Miley told Seventeen in 2008. "We still do, but we were in love with each other. For two years he was basically my 24/7. But it was really hard to keep it from people."

Both Miley and Nick are now happily married—Miley to Liam and Nick to Priyanka Chopra. But when Miley announced her engagement to Hemsworth in 2012, Nick was reportedly devastated. Many believe he wrote “Wedding Bells” to express how he was feeling.

Now that everyone seems to be in a good place, maybe we can expect another JoBro/Miley collab? Please?
