Nick Cannon isn’t fully over his marriage to Mariah, and we wouldn’t be either
We’ve heard all about Mariah Carey’s love life these days, but besides a few flings (one which brought him a new son) Nick Cannon has been notably single after his divorce. Cannon and Carey were married back in 2008, and broke up in 2016. The two have been co-parenting twins Moroccan and Monroe, and by all accounts, are handling this (often difficult) relationship perfectly. It might be because there’s still a lot of love between them.
In fact, when asked at the Kids Choice Sports Awards, Cannon said that it’d be hard for him to find another love.
"I can't. I'm broken, he said to Entertainment Tonight. "I'm shattered."
Wow. Pretty powerful words right there. But since Cannon and Carey see each other fairly often due to the kids, we totally get it.
"I don't have a girlfriend. I'm always dating. Why not? I'm a single man, I'm supposed to date," Cannon added.
Back in May, rumors spread that the two were willing to rekindle their relationship. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Carey made sure to clear up any misconceptions by saying that “We’re together when it counts,” meaning that they’re together when their kids need them to be together.
This time around, Entertainment Tonight decided to ask Cannon about the possibilities of a reconciliation. And he made sure to respond to the question with a ton of respect for Carey.
"She’s got a boyfriend!" he said. "He’s a nice guy."
Cannon also noted that he cherished the marriage and that the two of them “made some amazing children together,” which is incredibly true. Hey — you never know what the future might bring.
