Niall Horan just dyed his hair, looks NOTHING like himself

We hope you’re sitting down right now because former One Direction singer Niall Horan just changed his hair, and it’s got the internet in a tizzy.

Known for his famously frosted locks, the singer — whose first post-1D solo album is due out next year — appears to have darkened things up a bit for the fall season, and we think he looks absolutely dashing.

In a Snapchat photo shared earlier this week, Niall’s brunette roots show prominently, while his blonde tips appear shorter than ever.

As you can see from this fan’s tweet, the new hair is scoring big points.

If the difference isn’t immediately clear, just take a look at this side-by-side (the photo on the left was taken in July during the Wimbledon tennis championship.)

The difference is almost uncanny!

Niall’s transformation comes on the heels of an announcement by One Direction’s founder Simon Cowell that the group is unlikely to get back together anytime soon. Though they announced in August 2015 that they were going on a temporary “hiatus,” Cowell told Variety in June,

"I don’t think we’ll see [One Direction] as a group for a while now, if I’m being honest with you."

*Cue the heartbreak all over again*

While we’re still sad to see One Direction go, we’re loving Niall’s solo tune “This Town”  — and if his split from 1D means we get to see him with hair like this, we might just be able to get on board.
