A newscaster incorporated Taylor Swift lyrics into her morning traffic report
Local news is one of the last pure things we have in this cynical and scary world we live in. On Friday, November 10th, local news station KMOV in St. Louis, Missouri came through. A newscaster filled her traffic report with Taylor Swift references, and it’s clear that she’s a big fan of both Swift and her new album.
In honor of Swift’s new album Reputation, newscaster Laura Hettiger referenced the singer and her entire discography many times during the traffic segment on Friday’s news. In the minute-long video, she manages to reference “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space,” “Look What You Made Me Do,” “Love Story,” “Fearless,” and 1989. So the whole catalog basically.
It’s a pretty entertaining way to deliver the news. Hettiger’s lines included highlights like, “If you are about to drive into downtown St. Louis, there’s a lot of blank space there because traffic is pretty light.” And our favorite, “I could have a love story with how traffic is developing right now.”
At the end of the segment, Hettiger also took time to plug Reputation, urging people to actually go to a store and buy it. Honestly, Swift should pay Hettiger for all this free product placement.
Swift, who has eyes everywhere, saw the segment and actually tweeted it out, praising Hettiger.
My cousins in St. Louis sent this to me. I LOVE YOU @LauraKHettigerhttps://t.co/OvC349nq8y

When Hettiger wrapped up the traffic report, one of her newscaster colleagues even added, “Laura, I knew you were trouble when you walked in.”
Looks like Hettiger is going to get a big reputation for this.
Hettiger and the rest of the world can also now enjoy Swift’s live performances from the November 11th episode of Saturday Night Live. Swift ended up performing “…Ready For It?” and an acoustic version of “Call It What You Want,” proving that maybe old Taylor isn’t as dead as she thinks she is.

Keep up the good work Laura! Can’t wait to see your Katy Perry and/or Kanye West take on traffic next.
