Zac Efron had a major sports-related injury, but don't worry—he's updating fans from his hospital bed
In news we never, ever want to report, Zac Efron is officially in the hospital…however, he seems to be in good spirits. The Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile star posted his current condition to Instagram today, February 8th, informing fans that he has torn his ACL.
While the actor didn’t specify how the injury happened, he did include a skiing emoji, so we can assume it likely happened on the slopes. And in case you don’t know, your ACL is your Anterior Cruciate Ligament, which helps keep your knee bones in place. Injuries to the ACL are common among athletes and they are extremely painful, so we’re really hoping Efron is on his way to a speedy recovery.
You can next see The Greatest Showman star as Ted Bundy in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile in theaters this fall, and perhaps even sooner on Netflix (the streaming platform purchased the film after it premiered at Sundance).
Get well soon, Zac!
