The past year has been a turbulent one for Hollywood. Amid all the sexual assault allegations and the necessary #TimesUp movement, it’s hard to predict what the biggest awards show of 2018 will look like — and if any of the accused will be in attendance. Will James Franco be at the 2018 Oscars? Following his allegations, it’s not likely that we’ll see him on the red carpet this time around.

If you haven’t been living under a rock, you probably know that, in January, five women accused Franco of sexual misconduct, either while they were working with him or taking one of his acting classes. Since then, Franco has maintained his innocence, but these accusations are very serious, and people have been wondering how it might affect his career from here on out.

Of course, Franco has dominated the awards show circuit already; earlier this year, he won a Golden Globe for The Disaster Artist (although that was before the allegations against him came to light). However, Franco wasn’t even nominated for an Oscar, and if this report from E! News is correct, it sounds like he might be happy about that, considering what he’s been involved in lately.

Staying under the radar would definitely include staying home on Oscars night, wouldn’t it? So far, Franco himself has yet to comment on the Oscars, so reports like this one are all we have to go by for now.

There’s no definitive way to know if Franco is going to be at the Oscars or not until Sunday, March 4th, when the event finally airs. But regardless of whether or not he shows up, it’s going to be an awesome show recognizing so many talented people.
