If you’ve been following the most recent Scott Baio accusations, you may be wondering who Alexander Polinsky is. The actor has accused Baio of mental, physical, and now sexual harassment while on the set of Charles in Charge, and provided further details in a press conference today, February 14th.
Polinsky played Adam Powell, the youngest member of the Powell family on the ’80s sitcom. The show aired for five seasons and Polinsky was 10 when the show began. After the show ended, he primarily did voice-over work for animated shows and video games. The most recent show he’s worked on is Blaze and the Monster Machines, but he’s also worked on Teen Titans Go! and Transformers: Animated. Currently 43, Polinsky has been vocal about the power of sharing one’s story.
Polinsky’s accusations come on the heels of fellow Charles in Charge cast member Nicole Eggert’s assault accusations against Baio. Eggert stated that she was repeatedly molested by Baio while on set, starting at the age of 14 (when Baio was in his mid-20s). Eggert filed an official police report against Baio last week.
Polinsky has backed up Eggert’s claims, and also noted that Baio participated in “sexual themed hazing” on set, according to Variety.
As always, we stand with all victims who come forward to tell their stories, and we hope that justice is rightfully served. We’ll be monitoring this situation as it develops.
