A Trump supporter was banned from Disney World for carrying a "Trump 2020" sign on Splash Mountain
Seeing mention of President Donald Trump anywhere is enough to induce an eye roll these days, but at Disney World, of all places? No, thanks. And unfortunately, one Trump supporter had to learn the hard way that Disney takes its safety rules very seriously.
You may have already heard about the man who unrolled a Trump 2020 banner in the Magic Kingdom (which earned him a temporary ban from the parks) in September, and now, as Time reports, he’s in hot water again. Dion Cini has been permanently banned from Disney World after pulling his latest stunt: holding up a Trump sign on Splash Mountain.
On the Disney World website, park rules clearly state that “the usage of any flag, banner, or sign for commercial purposes, or to incite a crowd” is prohibited, and so is “engaging in any unsafe act or other act that may impede the operation of the Park,” which can definitely apply here, since holding a sign like that while flying down a 49 foot drop could definitely be dangerous.
As Cini told WFTV, his mission was to test those rules when he rode Splash Mountain last week.
“I wanted to actually abide by their rules, and not hold up a flag to incite a crowd, but I kind of wanted to test them,” Cini said. “I just really wanted to find out whether or not it had to do with unfurling a flag, or what was written on the flag.”
Cini posted a photo of himself on Splash Mountain holding up the sign on Facebook:
This ultimately led to Cini being banned from all Disney theme parks, including water parks and Disney Springs. Disney doesn’t play, and we’re here for it.
“Walt Disney World welcomes all guests to enjoy our parks; however, demonstrations and the display of signs and banners is not permitted on the premises,” Disney said in a statement to Time. “We have previously reminded this guest about our rules.”
Take a lesson from Cini: Don’t break the rules, or you will never be able to eat a Mickey ice cream bar again. And honestly, is that a risk that anyone is willing to take?
