Just when you think we’re about to make it through a week without the President of the United States doing something so completely off the wall that it actually threatens our nation, our nation’s welfare, and our standing as a country in the world, he does just that! During a discussion about immigration on Thursday — a topic that the president does really not like since he wants to keep basically everyone out — he “grew frustrated” and then Trump called parts of the world a “shithole.”

Let that really sink in for a second. Our 45th President of the United States of America referred to regions of the world as a “shithole.”

As first reported by the The Washington Post, during a meeting in the Oval Office with lawmakers regarding immigration on Thursday, Trump used racist, degrading, and derogatory words to refer to citizens and U.S. immigrants, from those regions. Per The Post:

When reached for comment by The Post, the White House neither confirmed nor denied that Trump actually said this [Narrator: He totally did!]. Instead, the White House offered up this explanation, from White House Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah:

“Like other nations that have merit-based immigration, President Trump is fighting for permanent solutions that make our country stronger by welcoming those who can contribute to our society, grow our economy and assimilate into our great nation. He will always reject temporary, weak and dangerous stopgap measures that threaten the lives of hardworking Americans, and undercut immigrants who seek a better life in the United States through a legal pathway.”

In short, Trump used that terminology, but he only used it because he’s thinking about America first and foremost. Sure.

One of the major reasons Trump has deemed these countries “shitholes” is because many of their citizens are here in the U.S. following major disasters in their home countries. Haiti, for example, experienced a horrific earthquake back in 2010 (and so many more in recent years), and residents from there were granted temporary protected status. Trump wants to end that, and to send all Haiti residents back to Haiti by 2019. According to USA Today, there are roughly 59,000 Haitians living in America under this protected status, and Trump is no longer okay with that. He wants them gone.

Trump’s comments are absolutely appalling, and do not represent the real feelings and unity of United States of America, a nation of immigrants and those from all walks of life. His remarks are utterly disgusting and, honestly, full of shit.
