Troye Sivan and Ariana Grande are all of us at karaoke in the new "Dance To This" music video
Ever since news broke that singer and LGBTQ activist Troye Sivan was releasing a collaboration with Ariana Grande, fans of both stars have been waiting with bated breath. Today, July 19th, after much anticipation, Sivan released the music video for his song “Dance To This,” featuring Grande. And yes, you will indeed want to dance.
The song, which is the fourth single from Sivan’s upcoming second album Bloom, dropped on June 13th. Since then, the two friends and pop stars have been teasing their fans with clips from the video on Twitter. And now, the “Dance To This” music video has finally arrived.
The vid, which Pitchfork reports was directed by Bardia Zeinali, opens on what looks like a community center. One woman snacks on crackers, while another shuffles a deck of cards. An unsolved Rubik’s Cube sits on the table in front of twins. Soon, the “My My My” singer takes the mic at the front of the room, performing for the disinterested crowd. Eventually, he notices Grande rocking her classic high ponytail, and she joins him at the mic. The two sing and dance together as onlookers slowly trickle out, eventually leaving the two to enjoy their jam session alone.
Check out this chemistry:
Seriously, we can’t get enough of their friendship.
Sivan revealed on Twitter that he got the inspiration for the video from High School Musical and Grease. And now that he mentions it, we do get strong “Start of Something New” vibes.
