While often entertaining, viral internet trends aren’t often inspiring (hot dog legs and potato makeup, we’re looking at you). However, the most recent super-shareable hashtag—#trashtag—is both clicky and empowering. For those not yet familiar, #trashtag is the hashtag people are using to share before-and-after photos of public cleanup projects, whether they be on a beach, a public park, or even just the side of the road. Tons of everyday citizens are taking it upon themselves to help make their communities look and feel a little nicer, and we’re all about it.

Okay, this is officially an internet trend we can 100% get behind. We’re also feeling inspired to get a group together and embark on a #trashtag expedition of our own.
