TLC and Nelly are going on tour together—and tweens of 2001, this is not a drill
Get ready to party like it’s 2000, because TLC and Nelly are hitting the road together this summer. This morning, Rozonda “Chili” Thomas and Nelly announced the upcoming tour on BuzzFeed’s Twitter morning show AM to DM. Also co-headlined by Flo Rida, the five-week amphitheater tour kicks off on July 23rd in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and will make stops all over North America before wrapping up in Irvine, California on August 31st.
The tour announcement comes less than a month after the 20th anniversary of TLC’s beloved third studio album, FanMail, which featured the group’s classic anthem “No Scrubs.” Nelly, meanwhile, is gearing up to celebrate the anniversary of his first album, Country Grammar, which became a chart-topper when it debuted in June 2000. It may be 2019, but we’re officially ready to break out the frosted lip gloss and chokers.
The most recent announcement is just the latest in a series of ’90s-tastic music announcements. In January, beloved ’90s rock groups Jimmy Eat World and Third Eye Blind announced they’d be teaming up for a 35-stop tour, kicking off in June. Meanwhile, after 15 years, Hootie & the Blowfish are back together for a new album and tour kicking off in May, with Barenaked Ladies featured as special guests for a number of stops.
Tickets for the Nelly, TLC, and Flo Rida shows go on sale on March 15th, and you can see if they’re coming to a stop near you here.
