Today, September 27th, Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and the professor accusing him of sexual assault, Christine Blasey Ford, are testifying in a Senate hearing. Hours before the hearing began, the Time’s Up movement released a video calling on Kavanaugh to withdraw himself from consideration for the Supreme Court.

In the video, posted on September 26th, women address Kavanaugh one by one in the form of a letter.

The Time’s Up movement has pushed for Kavanaugh’s withdrawal since the sexual assault accusations against him first emerged. The organization instigated a nationwide walkout on September 24th to protest his nomination.

Time’s Up also issued a statement on September 17th opposing Kavanaugh’s nomination.

Kavanaugh has categorically denied all sexual assault allegations against him. In his opening statement in today’s hearing, published by NPRhe referred to the accusations as “last-minute smears, pure and simple” and wrote that he “will not be intimidated into withdrawing from this process.”

The Senate hearing today will help determine whether or not Kavanaugh gets appointed to the Supreme Court. We hope that Ford—and all of Kavanaugh’s accusors—are taken seriously and treated fairly.
