Last night, March 11th, Tim McGraw collapsed onstage in the middle of his performance during a country music festival in Dublin, Ireland, leaving fans understandably concerned. McGraw’s wife, Faith Hill, came out about 20 minutes after he was helped off stage to let fans know he would not be able to finish the show.
Though McGraw and Hill are currently on a world tour together, the couple was in Ireland as part of a three-day country music festival called C2C: Country to Country, with shows in London, Glasgow, and Dublin. According to reports, McGraw had just finished his performance of “Humble and Kind” when he sat down near his keyboard player, before slumping to his knees and being helped off stage.
Hill soon came out to let fans know he would be okay but couldn’t continue the show. “He’s been super dehydrated. I apologize, but I made the decision that he cannot come back out onstage,” she said, reminding the audience to “drink more,” and “keep yourself hydrated.”
The crowd was sympathetic, cheering, “We love Tim!” before Hill improvised an a cappella version of “What A Friend We Have in Jesus.”
According to Rolling Stone, a rep for McGraw confirmed he had collapsed but reiterated that he’s doing fine, saying, “Tim McGraw was suffering from dehydration in Dublin this evening at the C2C show. He was attended to by local medical staff on-site and will be fine. He and Faith thank everyone for their love and support and look forward to seeing their Irish fans again soon.”
We’re hoping McGraw is feeling better and sending all our best wishes his way today.
