The U.S. women's gymnastics team won gold because they are obviously unstoppable
The bad ass ladies of the #FinalFive made history Tuesday night by winning Olympic gold for the second time in a row.
The U.S team of Gabby Douglas, Simone Biles, Laurie Hernandez, Aly Raisman, and Madison Kocian beat the competition by an impressive 8 point lead, the largest margin victory since the new scoring system was implemented in 2006. But seeing how much ass they’ve been kicking during the games, it comes to no surprise these ladies won by breaking a record.
According to Raisman, it was all a part of their strategy. In a pre-Olympic interview, she explained, “We’re going in as the best team in the world so we should carry ourselves that way, not be scared and shaky because we have that pressure. It should be the opposite. She continued, “You know, you walk in like you’re number one and I think that’s intimidating to everyone else.”
Basically, their strategy was “fake it till you make it,” but in this case, I don’t think any faking was needed. They owned the sport.
While our ladies were dominating the games in Rio, many of us in the U.S were cheering them on. Including a few people you may have heard of.
Shortly after their win, the team went on Twitter to express their joy and thanks to the fans.
We couldn’t be prouder of our team! Congrats on the gold ladies! You run the world 😉
