Midge Maisel’s return to the stage officially has a date. On Wednesday, October 24th, Amazon released the full-length trailer for Season 2 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Following her rocky introduction to the world of stand-up in Season 1, the trailer for Season 2—aptly set to “I’m The Greatest Star” from Funny Girl— finds Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) and her partner-in-crime, Susie (Alex Borstein), attempting to take things to the next level.

However, Midge soon finds herself torn between her friends and family (who don’t know about her foray into standup) and her burgeoning career. Taking cues from real-life comics of the 1950s, the second season also sees Midge taking her act on the road to the Catskills. And don’t worry, Rose (Marin Hinkle) and Abe Weissman (Tony Shalhoub) appear to be in peak form.

Midge also has biting words for anyone who thinks men are inherently funnier than women. “Men in general run around telling everyone only men are funny,” she says. “Comedy is fueled by disappointment and humiliation. Now, who the hell does that describe more than women?”

The series is returning after a widely acclaimed debut season, which garnered the Amy Sherman-Palladino series eight Emmys in September—including Best Comedy series, and acting awards for Rachel Brosnahan and Alex Borstein—as well as two Golden Globes in January.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 2 will be available for streaming on December 5th, and we can’t wait.
