Even though the 2018 Oscars brought all the glitz and glamour to our screen there was something else during the show that caught our eagle eyes. You’re going to want to brace yourselves for this one because what we’re about to tell you is something that you won’t be able to unsee, especially if you’re a beauty lover. The 2018 Oscars envelopes remind us of eyeshadow palettes. In particular, we’re getting Morphe eyeshadow palette vibes.

Hear us out on this one. The Oscars envelope’s sleek black design looks similar to Morphe’s signature eye palette. Morphe’s current packaging has text on the top left corner and bottom right corner, and the Oscars envelopes have text in the exact same spots.

After the 2017 Oscars Best Picture winner mix-up, we’re sure the Academy decided to make the envelope categories more obvious, which is why the new envelopes have bold gold text with the category names written out. Last year, the envelopes were red with tiny gold lettering.

Morphe’s eyeshadow palette packaging:

See what we mean? While we’re sure the Oscars didn’t take a cue from the beauty brand’s packaging, we can’t help but notice the similarity. And makeup lovers everywhere won’t be able to look at the rest of the award show without picturing the presenters holding up a Morphe palette in their hands.

In the meantime, we’re giving ourselves a round of applause for our detective work.
