Swifties: we have some bad news for you. While we all love a good Taylor Swift red carpet moment, our favorite Lover singer will not be strutting her stuff on the grand stage of the Grammys 2020. Us Weekly confirmed on Friday that the singer and Miss Americana documentary star would not be attending this year’s biggest night in music, despite being nominated for three gilded gramophones.

This year, Swift is nominated for Song of the Year for “Lover”, Best Pop Vocal Album for Lover and best pop solo performance for “You Need to Calm Down,” but some fans thought it was a major snub for her not to be nominated in the coveted Album of the Year or Record of Year categories.

Though her exact reasoning for not attending the awards is unclear, there seems to be no bad blood (pun intended) for Swift, as she expressed her gratitude for the nominations on her Instagram stories after their unveiling.

Not to mention, Swift is already the proud owner of 10 Grammy awards, gathering them all the way from her “Fearless” days up until her 2019 win for Best Music Video for “Bad Blood.” In total, she’s been nominated for a total of 34 Grammys throughout her transformative country-to-pop career.

We won’t say we’re not bummed that there will be no surprise performance from Swift this year, but with performances by Ariana Grande, Lizzo, Billie Eilish, the Jonas Brothers, and a much-anticipated comeback performance from Demi Lovato, this year’s star-studded show is set to have no shortage of entertainment, even with Swift’s absence.

In the meantime, we’ll be gearing up to get our TSwift fix by watching her get raw and real in her Netflix documentary, Miss Americana, which comes out January 31st.
