We have some sad news to report. The 103-year-old woman who supported Hillary Clinton has passed away, and our hearts are breaking. Ruline Steininger went viral for her support of the first female presidential candidate, and it’s very clear why.

Not only was Steininger incredibly likable, she was a lifelong fighter for women’s rights.

She was determined to witness history and help elect the first female president of the United States.

Unfortunately, we all know how that turned out. But Steininger never stopped fighting, and apparently, never will stop fighting.

Clinton tweeted her condolences:

Steininger was born in 1913, seven years before women gained the right to vote. She grew up during a time when women couldn’t be doctors, lawyers, scientists, activists or president. They had two choices: Either be a school teacher or a nurse.

Women certainly have come a long way since that time. Even though Steininger wasn’t able to witness the country’s first female president, everything she stood for will live on in all of us. We, too, won’t ever stop fighting.
