Starbucks is introducing a new winter drink today—and the "CSL" just might be the new PSL
January is kind of a bummer when it comes to Starbucks drinks. The PSL is long gone, and your local shop is probably starting to run out of peppermint flavoring, which means it’s back to your usual coffee order—but maybe not. The coffee chain is launching a brand new drink, and it might just end up being your official winter go-to.
The new Starbucks drink is called the Cinnamon Shortbread Latte—or, predictably, the CSL for short. It’s made with espresso and it’s totally customizable, so whether you want it iced, hot, or as a Frappuccino, that’s your call.
According to a press release from Starbucks, the drink is made with “rich espresso combined with notes of brown butter and vanilla, and topped with warm, wintery spices of cinnamon and nutmeg,” which sounds like comfort in a cup, especially on a freezing day. And it’s supposed to taste like cookie butter. Yum.
Here’s your first peek at the drink. Doesn’t it look yummy?
If the Cinnamon Shortbread Latte sounds like it’s right up your alley, you’ll be happy to know that it’s already available. Starting Tuesday, January 8th, it’s officially for sale in Starbucks stores while supplies last.
Nothing could ever replace the PSL in our hearts, but it sounds like the CSL definitely has a shot at becoming our favorite winter drink. Just because the holidays are over doesn’t mean your coffee has to be boring.
