You’re going to need to stop right now, thank you very much, because we have some major news for you, ’90s girls. A new Spice Girls movie is slated for release in 2020, and all five Spices are on board.

Rumors began swirling back in March 2018 after Variety first reported that a Spice Girls animated superhero movie was in the works, with each member playing a superhero version of her Spice Girl alter ego—complete, of course, with her own individual “girl power.”

We hadn’t heard much about it after the initial report, but girl power hit a fever pitch again in May when four of the five original members embarked on a reunion tour, hitting several cities around Europe this summer. For those of us that can’t swing the airfare to see our favorite ’90s queens on stage, fear not, because The Hollywood Reporter confirms that the animated movie is happening, and all five Spice Girls are “very involved.”

Paramount Animation president Mireille Soria revealed that the Spice Girls “had an idea that we’ve been developing,” and that the movie would feature the group’s classic hits as well as new songs. All five Girls will voice their characters…yes, even Victoria Beckham.

Even cooler is that the senior team behind Paramount Animation is largely made up of women, which feels appropriately fierce and feminist given the Spice Girls’ longtime message of girl power.

Of course, this isn’t the first time the legendary pop group hit the big screen. We still watch 1997’s Spice World on the regular, and we’re more than ready to spice up our lives again in 2020. Here’s hoping the Spice Bus makes an appearance in the new flick, as well as plenty of platform shoes and little Gucci dresses. Stay tuned for more details.
