If you remember seeing the movie Jurassic Park for the first time in a movie theater, then get ready to feel old as hell: Jurassic Park turns 25 in 2018 (insert your dinosaur jokes here). But before you spend the day wondering where the last two-and-a-half decades of your life have gone, it’s time to take a trip back in time, courtesy of Saturday Night Live. Bill Hader’s triumphant return led to the creation of these fake SNL Jurassic Park auditions, and we’re officially dead.
Counting down the months until the June 22nd release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom? Us, too. Especially since news broke back in April that Jeff Goldblum (aka the sexy and shirtless Dr. Ian Malcolm) would be joining the Jurassic World sequel. And now that we know Jurassic World 2 is *also* Jurassic Park 5 (wait, there was a Jurassic Park 3?!), we can catch up on all four films in the franchise in preparation for the latest installment’s sure-to-be dino-mite (get it?) debut.
In the meantime, last night’s SNL Jurassic Park auditions tickled our funny bones by dusting off the blockbuster film’s “lost” auditions from ’90s stars, including Lisa Kudrow at peak Friends fame, a blue-haired Gwen Stefani circa No Doubt, and Drew Barrymore at her flower-child best.
Welcome to these unearthed SNL Jurassic Park auditions!
SNL cast favorites like Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Redd showed off their best impressions of ’90s icons like Ellen DeGeneres, Whoopi Goldberg, and Jaleel White (or rather, Steve Urkel) when delivering the film’s most timeless lines.
Here’s Kate McKinnon as a ’90s version of Ellen DeGeneres:
Ever wondered what Jurassic Park would be like with Al Pacino?
And there’s only one word for Pete Davidson’s Adam Sandler impression: Classic.
Oh, SNL Jurassic Park auditions, you give us life. Thanks for the memories!
