Ryan Seacrest's accuser has provided more details about his alleged harassment
More details have emerged about Ryan Seacrest’s alleged harassment. In November 2017, Seacrest denied allegations that he harassed his former E! News stylist. He called the claim “reckless” and said he would “cooperate with any corporate inquiries that may result.” Now his accuser, Suzie Hardy, has made the details of her accusations public.
On Monday, February 26th, Variety published an interview with Hardy that details the alleged harassment. Hardy began working as Seacrest’s personal stylist in 2007. She was a single mom and grateful for a job and steady paycheck. Her employment ended in 2013 after coming forward about the sexual harassment to human resources. In the interview, Hardy alleges that Seacrest groped her, hugged her while wearing only his underwear, and made requests that made her feel uncomfortable, such as coming to his house at night to tie his tie.
“I didn’t know how to deal with it,” Hardy told Variety. “I really didn’t. I was battling finally being in a decent financial position to breathe and be a mom, that I didn’t have to be freaking out all the time, and then dealing with this infantile celebrity person who was testing me on every level and manipulating me and knew that I was in a vulnerable position.”
E! told Variety that their investigation was complete.
Seacrest’s lawyer Andrew Baum released this statement to Variety about the matter.
We hope that someday, we’ll live in a world with far fewer claims of sexual misconduct.
