You may be feeling sad/relieved that Season 9 of American Horror Story is officially over and done with. Tensions were high throughout the entirety of American Horror Story: 1984, though things ended on a sweet note—something AHS fans aren’t really used to. But according to the show’s creator Ryan Murphy, things could definitely go back to normal come Season 10. And we’re not just talking tone-wise, either.

Murphy talked to Deadline on November 13th about the Season 9 finale, and he gave a few hints about the upcoming season of AHS, including the ever-crucial cast.

Phew. There’s a lot to unpack here. Although Murphy said it’s “too soon to tell” whether Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and Connie Britton were four of the actors who shelled out a “Yes,” he did say this:

“I’ll just sort of say, the people who helped build this show into what it is, who believed in it from the beginning, have been contacted and are interested,” Murphy confirmed.

So…Lange, Paulson, Evans, and Britton are absolutely on board is what we’re hearing.

Of course, after cast, Murphy hinted about the theme. Could we be getting American Horror Story: Space?

Murphy said that AHS fans have always wanted “something in space,” but he’s keeping mum about whether they’re going to get their way in the 2020 season. He did say, however, that a space theme “would be hard because it’s called American Horror Story and you’d have to stay within the legal soil limits in order to make that work.”

Overall, we’re trying not to tear up over the fact that the 10th season may be American Horror Story’s last. Murphy noted that Season 9 was the anthology’s most popular, according to streaming numbers. So perhaps it’s best to end things on a high note. We’ll be sad to see it go, but American Horror Story is definitely one of those shows you can rewatch over and over again and never not be scared.

Knowing that we may be reunited with old faves in the new season, we’re pretty excited about American Horror Story Season 10, too.
