When the highly anticipated Roseanne revival debuted on ABC this week, a whopping 18 million+ viewers tuned in, and it sounds like our Commander in Chief was one of them. Turns out, President Trump called Roseanne Barr following the reboot’s premiere to congratulate her on the show’s success.

Yep, the president, a former TV star himself, somehow finds time to keep up on his television (and sometimes bashes shows he doesn’t like), and he seems to have taken a special interest in the new chapter of the beloved ’80s and ’90s sitcom — and we’re guessing the fact that both the real-life Barr and her TV character are vocal Trump supporters miiiiight have something to do with it.

The call apparently went down Wednesday, and while Barr has talked about how excited she was to hear from Trump, the details of what they discussed aren’t clear.

The White House also provided no clues about the Trump-Barr conversation, though CNN points out Trump didn’t have any public events scheduled for that day.

(ICYMI: Trump has a serious thing for ratings.)

The fact that Barr’s character is being depicted as a Trump supporter on the show has upset some fans of the original show, who say the Roseanne they remember supported issues that Trump has a bad track record on, like women’s rights and same-sex marriage. But Barr and others behind the reboot say the discomfort of having different political stances, within a family especially, is at the heart of the new series.

Namely, on the show, Roseanne’s sister Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) is adamantly anti-Trump, and producers have said the reboot shows both sides of the political divide.

Others are taking issue with Trump’s priorities, considering that the president called Barr to congratulate her on the show but has yet to call family members of fallen soldiers, victims of police violence, or those killed in the Parkland school shooting.

Barr is already counting on the Roseanne reboot scoring more seasons, and if these ratings keep up, she just might get her wish. Whether there’s a President Trump cameo on those future seasons remains to be seen but, honestly, we wouldn’t be surprised if it happened.
