Two iconic Queer Eye couples went on a double date, and this is the crossover we needed
Legendary Queer Eye Season 1 couple Tom Jackson and Abby Parr went on a double date with Season 2 couple William Mahnken and Shannan Eller (aka the guy who proposed with a homemade short film). It was only a matter of time before all these Georgia-based dudes linked up, and on July 21st, it happened. The photos from their double date prove that both Tom and William are wearing the clothes Tan France suggested, and William is still rocking his new short haircut and clean-cut beard — the Fab Five would be proud. Both couples are married thanks to the show — Tom and Abby eloped in May after famously getting back together on Queer Eye, and William wed Shannan earlier this month after proposing to her during his episode.
Queer Eye shared the double date photos on Instagram and called it the “crossover episode we never knew we needed.” William tweeted several hours before the date and wrote, “Just a few hours away from the biggest event of this afternoon!!!” They apparently met up in Alpharetta, Georgia at a Mexican restaurant, because Mexican food sits at the intersection of Tom’s margarita-focused and William’s vegetarian-friendly Venn diagram.
This is the kind of feel-good content the world needs right now, and fans are currently losing it.
We second the Twitter user who wrote: “I actually love how this show has brought people together, it’s so sweet.” One of the things Karamo Brown tries to impart in every episode is the need to live fulfilling, confident lives — so we love that these former contestants are out in the world making new friends.
To quote William from his proposal speech, “We Shannan this.”
