As we are so very aware, society puts incredible amounts of pressure on women to adhere to unattainable beauty standards. We already have to deal with unrealistic expectations like having perpetually pristine hair, pore-free skin, soft, lush lips, and of course, model-perfect bodies. Now, it seems we might have another impractical ideal to live up to — A FLAWLESS ARMPIT.

Priyanka Chopra is currently on the cover of Maxim India modeling a gorgeous black two-piece. While the Quantico star looks stunning as always, Buzzfeed points out that her underarm appears to have been severely airbrushed.

Seriously, it looks like a Barbie armpit. There’s not even a crease. Here is another photo of her where you can see her totally normal armpit.

While Priyanka is one of the most beautiful women in the world and there are probably a good number of us who will never look like her, a magazine like Maxim India should be fine leaving a bodily feature like that unaltered. After all, normal human things like a stray chin hair, a mole, or the simple beauty of an armpit crease might be the thing that brings all of us together.

Instances like this make us more grateful when publications and retailers, such as Modcloth and Aerie, promise not to overly photoshop their models.
