Why Prince George and Princess Charlotte won't have back-to-school pictures this year
If you turn back the clock approximately 365 days, you might remember that wildly cute photo of a very nervous Prince George heading into school for the first time ever. While mom Kate Middleton was on bed rest with morning sickness (thanks, Prince Louis), George and dad Prince William marched in for day one. But George didn’t look convinced it would turn out alright. What a difference a year can make: Prince George headed back to school this week, and while we’d guess that he’s feeling more sure of himself the second time around, we can’t know for sure. Why not?
Well, because there are zero back-to-school royal photos happening this year. Boo.
Prince George started his second year at Thomas’s Battersea on Thursday, September 6th while his sis Princess Charlotte went to year two of pre-school at the Willcocks Nursery School earlier in the week—but no cute candids were taken. Inside sources told People that this is because Kate Middleton and Prince William want school to be a private and pressure-free place for the kids, which means public photos won’t be a yearly thing. Back-to-school photos of the royal kiddos will only come out when they mark a special occasion, like when George started school last year. It makes sense, of course. In the absence of new cute photos, let’s harken back to George’s pre-school days instead.
Remember his teeny tiny blue backpack?
