Pink may be too sick to sing the national anthem at the 2018 Super Bowl, so just cancel the whole thing
The 2018 Super Bowl is jam-packed with some amazing talent. Carrie Underwood and Ludacris are part of the entertainment lineup. Not to mention Justin Timberlake’s halftime show. We were especially excited to hear that Pink was scheduled to sing the national anthem at Super Bowl LII. But now, the singer says she might not be able to perform tomorrow. Why? Because she has the flu.
Pink posted a picture of herself practicing for her big performance on Instagram. She explained why she’s sick in her caption. “Trying to practice the flu away. I’ve been waiting to sing this song since 1991 when I saw my idol, Whitney Houston, own this song. And now, my chance has finally come. And it just so happens that this chance comes when I have two small Petri dish kids who literally cough INTO MY MOUTH and rub their snot on my cheek. You can’t write this stuff I swear! And here we are. I’ve arrived at another one of my dreams which is slowly becoming a sort of nightmare.”
Kids: We love them, but they certainly are giant germ factories aren’t they? It’s no surprise that Pink is working so hard to get better for the performance. She grew up in the Philadelphia area and is a HUGE Eagles fan.
So, will Pink feel better enough to sing the national anthem at the 2018 Super Bowl?
It sounds like she’s going to will her way to an amazing performance.
Pink might rely on a pre-recorded performance. But for now, she is scheduled to perform the anthem live.
Pink has already performed at a pre-Super Bowl concert at The Armory in Minneapolis.
On stage on Saturday, February 2nd, she told fans that she had the flu, and reportedly cut a few songs out of her set. But she still delivered an incredibly powerful performance, and fans were in awe of her ability to push through and put on a great show.
Drink lots of fluids and get some rest Pink! We hope you feel well enough to kick off Super Bowl 2018 and to cheer your Eagles to victory!
