There’s no better way to celebrate summer than with a little soft serve. Typically, we’re used to vanilla, chocolate, a mix of the two, and at a few lucky locations, strawberry. For better or worse, we never thought we’d see the day when pickle soft serve ice cream would be an option. But alas — one restaurant in New York City is currently dishing it out.
Fortunate (or unfortunate, depending on who you are) NYC residents can find it at Lucky Pickle Dumpling Co, which just opened this year. The fast-casual dumpling restaurant was founded by the team who owns Jacob’s Pickles, a restaurant that serves up elevated southern food. This means that the ice cream was concocted by people who really know how to make the most out of a pickle.
And, well, you could say that pickle soft serve ice cream is a new level of sorts. According to the menu, it only costs $5 to give the *interesting* dessert a try.
If pickle ice cream isn’t your thing, the restaurant offers two other flavors as well — matcha and chocolate dip. But believe it or not, the pickle flavor is getting rave reviews on Instagram from everyone who’s given it a shot. This is way more than a novelty flavor. It’s something that might change ice cream as we know it. (Pickle milkshakes, anyone?)
