Any one with access to a computer likely knows that Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson‘s romance has been a certifiable whirlwind. The duo got together, got inked, and got engaged within the span of several weeks, and they’ve been relatively open about their relationship with the public. But when Davidson’s Instagram account went dark on July 23rd, fans understandably wondered what happened to all his photos (and those adorable selfies of him with Grande).

As fans began to speculate that the couple broke up, Davidson posted to Instagram Stories to assure fans that “there’s nothing wrong,” and that he’s simply taking a break from social media.

Though he didn’t mention when he might be back, it seems Grande might also be taking a social media hiatus, too. Shortly after Davidson’s post, she tweeted, “The energy u put out is exactly what u get back, please create a beautiful life for yourselves.”

Then, when a fan noticed that her Snapchat account was back in action, Grande tweeted back, noting that she was going to take a “breather” from Twitter and Instagram for a while.

Despite intimating that she planned to take a social media hiatus, the singer has since posted multiple tweets, Instagram Stories, and even an Instagram selfie, though it appears she’s disabled the comments on her posts.

We can imagine how stressful it must be to live life in the public eye, so we understand the desire to pull away from all the social media noise. Sometimes we all need a break from endless digital feeds.
