People are sharing how they said "I love you" to their partners for the first time, and yes, we're crying
Taking a relationship to the next level is a nerve-racking experience. Will your “I love you” be returned? Or will it be shot down with an “Um…thank you?” One Reddit user polled the site to see how the “I love you” experience went for others, and grab your tissues (seriously).
Since the initial post was made in October 2018, it’s collected just under 2,000 upvotes and over 1,000 people have weighed in on the “I love you” conversation. We’ve pulled some of our favorites from the bunch (but if you have the time, the entire thread is absolutely worth a read). It’s basically an endless list of mini rom-coms. And they’re all amazing.
“He heard each one of those secret I love yous.”
“She turned toward me and whispered “I love you” in my ear.”
“She nearly barfed into the pond.”
“I lobe you.”
“I like you too.”
“I was sick of pining in silence.”
“I said “I know.””
“She said ‘You love me?'”
“I felt a soft kiss on my forehead and a whispered, I love you.”
“Then, he farted.”
Don’t mind us, we’re just over here sniffling and laughing—it’s all good. The thread has been archived, so unfortunately, you can’t add your own “I love you” story to the roster. But if you have a good one, please feel free to share it with us.
