Oreo just released the perfect weird holiday gift for your BFF—a cookie record player that actually plays music
Oreo just released a very interesting new product, and it’s kind of the perfect unexpected toy to gift your friends this holiday season. Basically, it’s a turntable that plays Oreo cookies (yes, real cookies) instead of records. Put the Oreo down on the turntable, and it’ll play a tune. Take a bite and put it back, and it’ll play something different. How is this possible? Well, it’s 2018, y’all. #Technology.
It’s officially called the Oreo Music Box, and you can buy it on Amazon for $19.99. It comes in a fancy tin with original, white fudge, and Oreo Thins cookies, so you’ll have a variety of flavors to “play.”
“Just place an Oreo cookie on the music box turntable (like you would a record), slide the record arm into place and an Oreo tune will play,” according to a press release. “Take a few bites and then put your Oreo cookie back into place—as your cookie gets smaller and smaller, the songs will change.”
So far, the music box is getting rave reviews, with one Amazon reviewer saying they “squealed with delight.” The only potential downside to this product? You’re probably going to end up eating a lot of cookies just to hear the different songs. And TBH, the songs aren’t exactly what we’d call bops—the novelty of the toy is really the focus here.
This is kind of the perfect Secret Santa gift (and it’s even better for White Elephant). Who wouldn’t want to get a turntable that plays cookies? If you want to buy a second one for yourself, we’re definitely not going to judge you.
