Today Oprah turns 64 — we honor her tenacity, generosity, and leadership
On this day in 1954, a legend was born: Oprah Gail Winfrey. I’m not exaggerating — there’s a reason she frequently finds herself on lists featuring the most influential women in the world. She was even awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Obama in 2013.
Born into poverty, Oprah Winfrey became a millionaire at the age of 32 after receiving national syndication for her talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Coming from a successful, giving philanthropist, we’re definitely taking her advice to heart.
And how about her Golden Globes speech? The speech that empowered us to move forward in the midst of a heartbreaking news cycle.
Happy birthday, Oprah. Here’s to your tenacity, generosity, and leadership. Thank you for inspiring us by being a bright light in the darkness.
