NBC made a Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Law & Order crossover commercial, and can this be real, please?
Brooklyn Nine-Nine has yet to air on NBC, but the network is still giving fans everything they could possibly want: a Die Hard-themed promo, never-before-seen bloopers, and the additions of Scully and Hitchcock to the show’s poster. They’re also giving fans things they didn’t even know they needed, like a trailer for a crossover episode with Law & Order. The trailer is a parody, but it would be amazing if it became a reality.
While both shows air on NBC, a real crossover is likely way more difficult than it sounds. Brooklyn Nine-Nine films in Los Angeles while Law & Order: SVU films in New York and New Jersey. Still…can you imagine Terry telling Olivia Benson that Terry loves yogurt? Because we can.
Basically, a Brooklyn Nine-Nine/Law & Order crossover episode is an extremely smort idea.
The official Law & Order: SVU Twitter account gave NBC mad props for the hilarious trailer.
Even the official Law & Order: Criminal Intent Twitter account got involved. They were only a tiny bit jealous.
Twitter is on board with a crossover episode, too, and already has ideas.
Someone even suggested a Brooklyn Nine-Nine crossover episode with Homicide: Life on the Street. That would really bring things full circle, as it’s the NBC police drama Andre Braugher appeared on from 1993-1998.
In September, Deadline reported that NBC extended Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s original 13-episode order to 18 episodes. So hey, you never know. There might still be time to make this a reality.
Season 6 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine premieres on NBC on Thursday, January 10th at 9 p.m. ET.
