National Geographic is offering *major* prizes to the best nature photographers, so it's time to start snapping
Alright Instagrammers, now is your time. Get your phone ready — or better yet, your fanciest camera plus lenses — because there is an awesome opportunity for you to make money from your photography skills. National Geographic is now collecting submissions for people to win major prizes for their best nature photos.
And when we say major, we’re not exaggerating: The Grand Prize is a trip for two to the Galapagos with National Geographic Expeditions. Each category will feature three winners, including: First Place with a $2,500 prize, Second Place with a prize of $750 and a National Geographic book, and Third Place with a sweet $500.
So, how do you go about entering? According to their website, the National Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year contest kicked off on August 15 and runs through November 4. And yes, you can even submit your best nature photos online.
For the sake of clarity, National Geographic says this about their photo submissions:
If you’re looking for inspiration, you’re in luck, because you can actually view photo galleries of the top entries and download them as wallpapers. So get your cameras ready, team, because it’s definitely time for a little adventure. All in the name of art, right?
