Friday, June 1st has to be one of the best days of 2018: it’s National Donut Day, which means that you can eat all of the donuts all day long. It doesn’t really get much better than that, to be honest. It’s such an easy “holiday” to take part in, too, because donuts are everywhere, and really, it’s hard for them to be bad. Plus, there are so many flavor options out there, as bakeries and shops have gotten more and more creative. Another reason to indulge? There are so many delicious donut deals for National Donut Day — some places are even giving away free donuts!
There are so many deals out there, actually, that it might feel a little overwhelming. Where are you supposed to start? Should you get free donuts or just discounted donuts (both, obviously)? Should you only stick to one treat, or should you try as many places as possible (we all know the answer to that one)?
We’ve tried to make things easier for you by making a list of the donut deals that are going on for this very special holiday. While you probably won’t be able to take advantage of each and every one of them (some are location-specific), you’re guaranteed to find one deal you can take part in.
Check out all of the ways you can get free or discounted donuts on National Donut Day:
Let’s kick things off with Dunkin’ Donuts. The company is giving away a free donut of your choice, while supplies last, with the purchase of any beverage. Coffee and a donut is a deal you really can’t beat.
Dunkin’ Donuts isn’t the only spot to snag a freebie. Krispy Kreme is also giving away free donuts to anyone who comes into the shop, no purchase necessary. And yes, you can choose whichever donut your heart desires.
On June 1st, Papa John’s will be introducing their new Donut Holes. Each customer will receive a free order of warm donut holes with any online pizza purchase. And listen to how delicious they sound: cinnamon sugar-coated donuts with caramel creme in the center. Oh, and they’re giving one customer a trip to New Zealand’s Donut Island. NBD.
If you prefer salty and savory to sweet, then head over to Burger King, where they’ll be selling a “flame-grilled donut.” It’s basically a Whopper with a hole in it, but still very cool. They’re only in five select locations, though: New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Boston, and Salt Lake City, so you may need to take a road trip.
Head to this convenience store between 5 A.M. and 10 A.M. to get a free donut with the purchase of a Farmhouse Blend or Chill Zone beverage. Yum!
On Friday, you can get one free classic donut at Duck Donuts, including bare, cinnamon sugar, or powdered sugar. Even better? No purchase is necessary, and you’ll also receive a buy-one get-one donut coupon you can redeem through June 17th.
Every Doughnut Plant shop will be giving away a free mini donut with any purchase on Friday. The free donuts are inspired by the newest location in New York City inside of Grand Central Terminal, so they have a cerulean blue glaze with tiny gold stars to match Grand Central’s ceiling.
Edible Arrangements is launching Edible Donuts, made of granny smith apples, chocolate, and a variety of toppings. On Friday, you can get a free Edible Donut. Order here!
If one day of donuts isn’t good enough for you, check this out: Through June 30th, Entenmann’s is accepting entries for its Chief Donut Officer contest for the chance to win the honorary title, along with prizes that include $5,000 and a year’s supply of donuts. Check it out here.
If you go into Walmart on Friday, you’ll get one free glazed donut…but expect crowds. The company expects to give away 1.2 million donuts!
Print out this Golden Ticket coupon for a free donut with a hole on Friday. You can also show the coupon on your smartphone in the store.
Five U.S. locations will have “Gold Timbits,” and the first guest to ask for them after 6 A.M. on Friday at these locations will get edible 24k gold-covered Timbits for free — oh, and they’ll also win free donuts for a year. The locations are in Detroit, Columbus, Ohio, and Buffalo, N.Y., so start hunting!
Well, we know where we’re headed tomorrow: uh, every single one of these shops! Happy National Donut Day, everyone!
