Dazzling a panel of judges with her confidence, intelligence, and iconic lava walk (which was praised by Tyra Banks), Catriona Gray from the Philippines won the 2018 Miss Universe title on Monday, December 17th. The Filipino-Australian beauty turned heads wearing a dress inspired by Mayon, a volcano in her hometown.

Along with her now iconic lava walk, the pageant queen also rocked “lava curls.” Gray styled her own hair (yes, really!) during the Miss Universe competition, according to a press release sent to HelloGiggles. She used CHI’s self-spinning hair curler that’s made with lava rocks, no less.

Even though Gray brought on the glitz and glam for the pageant, the newly crowned Miss Universe actually has an effortless and laid-back beauty routine. When it comes to her skin care regimen, Gray is “really practical,” she said in a video with Star Style Philippines from September 2018.

She normally uses “one or two things” for her oily/combo skin. Among the few products that she uses is a Lush fan-favorite.

The 2018 Miss Universe revealed she uses Lush’s Angels on Bare Skin.

If you aren’t familiar with the brand’s cleanser, know that it’s packed with good-for-you ingredients, and it works wonders for your complexion. (Gray’s flawless skin is proof, if you ask us.) The scrub is enriched with kaolin clay, ground almonds, and a soothing blend of lavender, rose, and chamomile oils. “I really like it because it softly exfoliates,” Gray said in the video while rubbing the Lush product into her skin. “It’s super, super soft.”

When she wants to “treat herself,” she likes to get a little “bougie” and “extra” with her skin.

That’s when Gray indulges in a complete 10-step routine. For the first few steps, she uses coconut oil to remove her makeup (after taking off her fake lashes, which is always her first step) and then removes excess oil with face wipes.

When it comes to serum, she uses the Origins Original Skin Serum. “I used to never use serum,” she said. “But they say it works, so I use it.” She also likes to use a night cream, which she explained helps “balance” her oily T-zone, and normal-to-dry patches around her face. Next, she uses an ointment cream (only when she gets breakouts), which she dabs onto her chin area.

Once the products have “sunk in,” she likes to apply her eye cream, which is the Kiehl's Avocado Eye Treatment. She doesn’t just use the cream for her delicate eye area—she revealed that she takes the excess and taps it into her smile lines. “I’m a very happy person,” she joked as she applied the cream around her mouth. To lock everything all in, she uses a jojoba oil. “Thanks, Mom, for introducing me to face oils,” she said.

For her final step, she uses the cult-classic Dr. Pawpaw Ointment Cream for her lips, and anything else that might need it. “I used this ever since I was in high school back in Australia,” she explained, adding, “I put it on everything; sunburn, cuts, even into the ends of my hair.”

There you have it: the 2018 Miss Universe loves her Lush cleanser for its natural ingredients, as well as other skin care cult-classics.
