Millie Bobby Brown won't be attending the MTV Movie & TV Awards this year for a painful reason

We’re sad to report that Millie Bobby Brown seems to have had a rough week. Not only did the Stranger Things star delete her Twitter account after a slew of inaccurate and vicious memes about her began circulating around the internet, but we just found out she also split her kneecap. OUCH.

Brown shared the news on Instagram yesterday, June 15th, adding that she won’t be able to attend the MTV Movie & TV Awards on Monday, June 18th because of the injury. She said,

“Hi guys! So another milestone in my life. I’ve never actually broken a bone, except for now. I have split my kneecap, so, from the doctors orders, he told me to rest up, and that means that I won’t be attending the MTV Awards this weekend. But I hope Gaten, Caleb, Finn, Sadie and Noah have the best time, and I love them so dearly! So, I wish you guys the best, and I’m sending my luck with you, and I’ll be there in spirit. Love you guys so much! And peace out!”

We’re so sorry this has happened to you, Millie, and we hope you get better soon.

The actress didn’t reveal how the injury happened, and we’re unsure if it will affect the Stranger Things filming schedule (filming for Season 3 began in April).

The Stranger Things crew has been nominated for a ton of MTV Awards this year, including Show of the Year, Best Musical Moment, and Best On-Screen Duo. Millie herself is nominated for Best Actor in a Show (which she took home last year) as well as Best Kiss with Finn Wolfhard.

Rest up, Millie! We can’t wait to see you back in action. Also, best of luck to the Stranger Things cast. We’re sure you won’t go home empty-handed after the amazing second season.
