Michelle Obama's DNC speech will have you crying actual tears
We were already pretty certain that Michelle Obama was perhaps one of the greatest living humans in the entire world, and now we’re 100% certain that Michelle Obama is one of the greatest living humans in the entire world.
The First Lady of the United States took to the stage at this year’s Democratic National Convention and gave a speech that brought the whole of the arena to tears.
In her heartwarming and emotional 15 minute speech, Michelle noted the role of the next President of the United States in shaping today’s youth, and the impact that their rhetoric will have on future generations.
Michelle spoke about how, when critics questioned her and her husband, Barak Obama’s, legitimacy and in terms of citizenship and faith, she told her two daughters that one should not “stoop to that level.”
“[O]ur motto is: When they go low, we go high,” she said to much applause.
Michelle went on to explain that she was backing Hilary for president because she never quits and never gives up. “[W]hen I think about the type of president I want for my girls and all our children, that’s what I want,” she said. “I want someone with the proven strength to persevere, someone who knows this job and takes it seriously, someone who knows that the issues the president faces is not black and white and cannot be boiled down to 140 characters.”
