Meghan Markle, the American actress turned Duchess of Sussex, has a lot on her plate these days. And unfortunately, since getting engaged to Prince Harry in late 2017, she’s received a ton of unfair criticism and scrutiny (messy bun, bare legs, etc., etc.). But the most recent critique may be the most absurd of all.

On Thursday, June 14th, during a trip to northern England with Queen Elizabeth, Markle’s hair was photographed blowing in the wind — much to the dismay of certain onlooker.

The strong winds were a result of Storm Hector, which struck the U.K. and Ireland on Thursday. The peanut gallery wasted no time in blaming Markle for leaving her hair down in such conditions. (Cue eye rolls). One commenter said, “You should have informed Meghan Cheshire is having high winds so she could have tied her hair back,” with another adding, “Agree. She looks sloppy with her hair loose…”

Markle may be a royal now, but she can’t control the weather. Plus, she’s still only human, meaning, yes, her hair will occasionally do things like (gasp!) blow in the wind. Come, on people.

Thankfully, many were quick to come to Markle’s defense, reminding them that it’s just weather. No one — not even the royals — deserve to be held under a microscope on a daily basis. No one is perfect and in our opinion Meghan looked stunning during her outing with the queen. Later haters.
