McDonald's created an app for finding the nearest Shamrock Shake (because the thirst is real)
We are absolutely jazzed about the official comeback of the Shamrock Shake. As of February 21st, the Shamrock Shake is back at participating McDonald’s locations across the country. But if you’re not sure where your nearest McDonald’s is (which is honestly a crime, but we won’t judge), or whether your local restaurant is whipping up the St. Patrick’s Day beverage, then you need to download the McDonald’s Shamrock Shake Finder app ASAP.
“Woah, woah, woah,” you say. “The Shamrock Shake has its own app? That’s a little ridiculous, don’t you think?” Uh, no! The Shamrock Shake is the sign of spring we’ve been waiting for all winter. If Punxsutawney Phil — a groundhog — can have his own day, then the Shamrock Shake can have its own app. Enough said.
Once downloaded on an Android or iOS device, the Finder app can be accessed within iMessage (once in your messages, tap on the App option). It’s basically a GPS that only labels McDonald’s locations serving Shamrock Shakes. You can pinch and drag to see different locations anywhere in the U.S. where Shamrock Shakes are served.
For example, below you can see the two McDonald’s locations currently serving Shamrock Shakes near Downtown Boston.
Users can also look up locations by tapping the “List” option in the top-right section of the app. Then, tap your state and then your town to see the addresses of participating McDonald’s.
So, yeah. The Shamrock Shake is kind of a big deal. Get on the app, trek to your local Mickey D’s, and enjoy the luckiest beverage of all time.
