We’ve been LOLing ever since Matthew Perry revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live that he beat up current Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau when they were fifth graders (they attended the same elementary school in Canada). And now the story gets even better. On Twitter, Perry responded to Justin Trudeau’s request for a rematch.

But first, let’s revisit what Perry said about his reason for beating up the future prime minister in the first place:

And then (because he’s the bestest), here was Trudeau’s April Fools response on Twitter:

And here is Perry’s gentlemanly reply:

Yeah, it’s probably the most adult decision to not get on the Prime Minister’s bad side…also, Trudeau has taken part in charity boxing matches before, so he’s no stranger to a fight.

At the end of the day, Chandler is a lover, not a fighter.

If only there were photos of the youngsters in the school yard. Sigh!

It’s genuinely pretty amazing that these two hugely successful people knew each other way back when. And hey — given that this is the first time they’ve been in contact since childhood, maybe this exchange will bring about a reunion where they can reminisce about the good (and…less good) times?

We can always hope!
