On November 29th, news broke that Matt Lauer was fired from NBC after he was accused of sexual misconduct in the workplace. And now, two days after his dismissal, Lauer has released a statement regarding the allegations.
In a letter read by Today anchor Savannah Guthrie, Lauer said,
Lauer went on to say that the days ahead will entail “soul searching,” and that “the past two days have forced me to take a very hard look at my own troubling flaws.” He also thanked those around him for their “patience and grace.”
Lauer is married to Dutch model Annette Roque and has three children.
