Malala Yousafzai is now on Twitter, and the internet instantly became a better place
Oh, Twitter. The app that allows us to speak our minds, wherever and whenever. Some may hate it, but we’re here to spill the tea about why you should get on the social media platform, if you’re not already. Of course, we all know Malala Yousafzai, the activist and Nobel Prize winner who fights for the rights of women and girls around the world.
Well, the old soul isn’t actually that old because she just graduated high school, and she got a Twitter, too! Malala took to the platform to tweet about her education, and of course, the power of girl power.
Malala may only have sent out seven tweets, but she already has 173,000 followers, and of course she’s verified.
In true Malala fashion, after tweeting out a “hello” to the Twittersphere, the activist decided to share her thoughts about education. Namely, though she’s excited to be done with high school (honestly, who wasn’t?), she also recognizes what a privilege education is.
Malala goes on to say that she’ll be returning to the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America to meet girls as a part of her #girlpowertrip.
She then goes on to say that women and girls’ voices are the most powerful weapons for education and equality. A perfect example of this is Malala herself, who’s faced adversity with a smile and a spirit that refuses to surrender.
Malala just has one question for us before she signs off on one of the best Twitter threads we’ve seen. She asks if we’ll help her fight for girls. The answer?
We’re with you, Malala — in spirit and on Twitter.
