Krispy Kreme blessed us with a limited-edition donut inspired by your favorite drugstore Easter candy
It’s almost spring, and you know what that means? Easter, warmer weather, vacations, and new limited-edition Krispy Kreme flavors. In honor of the changing seasons, Krispy Kreme’s newest flavor for spring is inspired by the best seasonal drugstore candy: The iconic Reese’s Easter Peanut Butter Egg. What is a holiday if not accompanied by a Reese’s festive candies, all of which vaguely look like ovals (even the Christmas tree editions).
Krispy Kreme has partnered with Reese’s for a while now. A similar donut was available over the summer and that one was also filled with Reese’s Peanut Butter Kreme, dipped in milk chocolate frosting, and topped with Reese’s Peanut Butter Chips and chopped peanuts. But like most good things, that donut was only available for a limited time, as is the new spring donut.
Here’s the iconic Reese’s egg you know and love:
And Krispy Kreme’s new Reese’s Peanut Butter Egg donut:
Just last week we heard about the new Nutella-filled Krispy Kreme donuts that are only available in the Dominican Republic. Thankfully, the Reese’s-filled donut is sold in U.S. stores, but only for a limited time. However, as we learned with the summer release of the similar Reese’s donut, it’s not crazy to think they’d bring back a decadent peanut butter donut with red, white, and blue frosting and roll it out in time for July 4th. Please?
