In the decade since Keeping Up with the Kardashians first began, the Kardashian-Jenner clan has frequently faced scrutiny for obsessing over weight. Many have questioned if the reality stars’ devotion to body image is healthy, or if it perpetuates body-shaming and unrealistic standards of beauty. And now, Twitter users are calling out Kim Kardashian for recent comments that could potentially trigger disordered eating.

In her July 29th Instagram Story, Kim filmed her sisters Kendall Jenner and Khloé Kardashian telling her she looked “so skinny.” The Kimoji perfume creator reacted with delight and egged them on as they discussed her body.

"I'm really concerned. I don't think you're eating," Kendall told Kim while smiling. "Like you look so skinny."

"Oh my god, thank you!" Kim gushed in response.

The 22-year-old model then held up a mini-purse, joking “my purse is as tiny as you.” Kim, who recently came under fire for promoting appetite-suppressant lollipops, exclaimed, “Oh my god, the compliments!”

In a later clip posted that same night, Khloé told Kim, "I can literally see through you."

"I'm down to 119 pounds," Kim said. "I will say when I take out my hair extensions I am less."

Khloé continued, saying Kim was “anorexic” in her waist and, “her arms are like pin thin.”

Many Twitter users were shocked by Kim’s gleeful response.

As some pointed out, anorexia is a disease and should never be glorified.

According to the National Eating Disorders Association, anorexia is the third most common chronic illness among young people, and we would hope that anyone with a large public platform would never intentionally glorify a dangerous disease.

Remember: your self worth is not defined by an arbitrary number on the scale, and there are so many ways to be beautiful.
